I tried to use an external DVD drive since my internal one is not working and of course that has problems as well. Any idea what I need to do to get this working?
Strange the internal drive worked right until Vista started as I had the drogram on a DVD. I wounder if this is a comon problem.

I have an external LITE-ON usb DVD drive that I wanted to use. It is not recognized by the system. What is strange is that I'm also having a similar problem with my internal Philips drive (ATA Device). Are there general DVD problems with Vista?
It seems at least Kodak's photoprogram has issues affecting cdrom drives. If you have that, try uninstalling it. -- Try, learn, experience.

I wish it was that simple but no I don't have the Kodak Photoprogram on my system.
I'm hearing more people write up about problems with their CD/DVD drive. There is obviously a comon problem that no one has figured out yet. Anyone with any idea as what might be wrong, feel free to suggest a solution. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with the same results.
